Caterpillar Vital Information Management System

The Vital Information Management System (VIMS) Supervisor Software provides custom fleet production and maintenance reports by extracting data from the VIMS PCDatabase. The user-friendly architecture provides the functionality to filter and sort Event, Payload, Trend, and Histogram data in order to create dynamic reports that target the needs of the customer.

The Vital Information Management System (VIMS) unit and laptop PC shown simulate information available in large off road vehicles. In addition to its ECM, it includes all the cab monitoring gauges and displays plus the keypad for operator input. As shown here with a laptop PC, the unit is a stand-alone training simulator. It can, however, communicate with other simulators over the data link.
